Simple Guide To Help You Take Screenshot In Ice Cream Sandwich (Galaxy S II)

Samsung was kind enough to push out Ice Cream Sandwich update for Galaxy S II I9100G (Yes, I own a G variant). Being an application addict I was immediately onto taking screenshot of the next application I plan to review, however coming from Gingerbread (and never trying Cyanogen mod) I was battling with the same key combination I used with Gingerbread for taking screen snaps (Power + Home button).

Since that didn’t work I google’d for the right way to take screenshots in Ice Cream Sandwich. All of the forums/blogs I read suggested the Volume down + Power button combination. But after trying for half an hour, I gave up and started doubting my phone handling capabilities 😉

Anyway after a bit of fondling it turned out that the same key combination worked as it was in Gingerbread i.e Power + Home button. All you need to do is press the Power and Home button simultaneously and the screenshot will be captured!

A small tip, if you can’t sync the pressing of Power and Home buttons then first press the Home button and immediately after press the Power key (in as much little time as possible). Keep the keys pressed till you see a screenshot saved notification in top bar 🙂

Note: Watch the video the see how I did it!
