Tablets Launch Rumours Galore & Now CDMA Tablet By Reliance

It appears to be season of tablets. After hearing a lot about likely launches of Google and Nokia tablets, a new and first of its kind CDMA Tablet has arrived on the horizon. Reliance Communications has unveiled today Reliance Tab on CDMA technology. The Tablet is equipped with Android 2.3 operating system, supports up-to 32 GB content storage, weighing 397 grams and priced at Rs. 12,999.

According to Reliance Communications Wireless Business – Hub Head Rakesh Singh, up-to 40 % discounts are offered in 5GB data usage plans. There is a growing demand for tablets under Rs. 20,000 category, he told reporters after unveiling the tablet. Currently, Reliance Communications offers customised plan with discounts ranging from 27 % to 40 % annually. For monthly plans, the company offers discounts from 20 % to 31 %, he said.

The tablet is supported by the company’s CDMA network across 22 circles in 1000 towns, he said, adding that the company was also offering one year antivirus package and others benefits valued upto Rs. 2,100.

Reliance has kept the price quite affordable and with discounts on usage plans, the package looks attractive. However, the success of this tablet will depend upon its features and how it performs when it is in the hands of the actual users. One should not jump to the conclusion after hearing about discounts and prices. If you are not in hurry to buy the tablet then wait and watch its performance and then make purchase decision.
