WeChat, the leading mobile social communication application for smartphones, has achieved record growth in Q2 to Q4 2013. As per GlobalWebIndex (GWI), WeChat achievesd 379% growth of international users during the Quarter 2 to Quarter 4 of the previous year. GlobalWebIndex is a market research company specialising in online consumer behaviours, and runs the world’s largest study on the connected consumer, interviewing 170,000 unique individuals annually, covering 32 markets, representing 89% of the global internet audience. This firm surveyed mobile internet users aged 16-64 on their active usage of social platforms between Q2 and Q4 2013, to arrive at the above findings.

WeChat was also one of the top three most searched items in the Philippines last year and the only app in the top ten searched item in Malaysia as per Google Trend 2013.
