Xiaomi of China which is quite popular in China, has launched today its flagship smartphone Mi3 with very attractive hardware features at unbelievable price of Rs. 13,999. This smartphone and other two smartphones announced by Xiaomi will be sold exclusively in India by popular marketplace Flipkart. The Mi 3 will go on sale on July 22 in India and pre-registration for Mi 3 is now open at flipkart. Those customers who register till July 21st mid-night will be eligible to purchase their Mi 3.
Going by the fetures, the Xiaomi Mi3 is a very convincing smartphone. It sports a 5-inch 1080p IPS display(1920×1080 Full HD) and is powered by a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It is equipped with 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and also houses a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, with capacity of shooting 1080p videos. This smartphone runs Android KitKat 4.4.2 OS optimized with Xiaomi’s MIUI version 5. It is fuelled by a huge 3,050mAh battery, which is claimed to deliver 500 hours of standby time, 50 hours of music playback, 25 hours of talk time and 21 hours of 3G Internet usage.
Since Xiaomi is new entrant to Indian market, they have put their service logistics in order before starting sale of their smartphones in India. At the launch event, Xiaomi announced that they have already set up 35+ service centers across India in 20 cities with dozens more to come, and hotline that operates 7 days a week. They have also opened two exclusive Mi service centers in Delhi and Bangalore to ensure a TAT (turn around time) of two hours with the planning to reduce it to one hour in due course of time.

Mi 3 is Xiaomi’s highest performing smartphone, consistently ranked at the top of industry benchmarks since its first launch. Its Android-based platform – MIUI – is a live operating system constantly improving with frequent software updates. MIUI is incredibly intuitive and user friendly while offering power users a high degree of customisation, claimed Xiaomi in its press statement.
Going by the features and price, Xiaomi Mi3 could be killer smartphone as its is the first Android smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 proocessir, which is below Rs. 15,000. Xiaomi has played smart and is selling through flipkart to cut margins of distributors and retailers and pass on the benefit to the consumers. With this price, Xiaomi is going to give sleepness nights to India handsets makers and also to other Chines companies, which are of late, quite aggressive in India.
