Xiomi has launched today Redmi 5A smartphone in India at very aggressive price point whihc is a successor to the hugely-popular Redmi 4A which sold four million units within eight months of its launch. Redmi 5A comes in 2GB RAM + 16GB storage option and is priced at INR 4,999 for the first five million units, post which it will be available for INR 5,999. Another variant has 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and is priced at INR 6,999.
Both the variants will be available from 12 noon, 7 December 2017, across Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores, followed by offline retailers including Mi Preferred Partners in the subsequent weeks. This phone has a metallic matte finish, and will be available in three colours: Dark grey, Gold and Rose gold.
On the specifications front, the Redmi 5A has 5 inch HD display with resolution of 720×1280 pixels, and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 Quad-core processor clocked at max 1.4GHz. The internal storage of both the variants can be extended upto 128GB via microSD card. This phone has Dual SIM support + dedicated microSD card slot. It is packed with 3000mAh battery.
This phone is mounted with a 13MP rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) for fast focusing, LED flash and an f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, it has 5MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and Smart and pro beautify features.
This phone offers connectivity options of 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetoooth etc. It runs on MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat OS.
