Xiaomi of China has scored a sixer by launching a smartphone with very impressive features at very attractive price today at an event in New Delhi. This phone is Redmi Note 3 and the price of this phone is Rs. 9,999 for 2GB+16GB internal storage variant and Rs. 11,999 for 3GB+32GB variant. The Redmi Note 3 will be available in Dark Grey, Gold, and Silver colours.
Both the variants of The Redmi Note 3 will be available exclusively on Amazon.in and Mi.com starting 9 March. Starting from 4pm on 3 March, Mi fans can pre-register on the two sites for the first sale. Very soon, Redmi Note 3 will also be available on Flipkart, Snapdeal and offline partners.
The highlight of Redmi Note 3 is that this is the first-ever smartphone in India equipped with the powerful Snapdragon 650 processor. It has a beautifully construction with a metal body and is fuelled by a massive 4050mAh battery that can last a full day on a single charge. It is also Xiaomi’s first-ever smartphone with a fingerprint sensor.
On of the salient features of Redmi Note 3 is its fast processing power. This phone is powered by Snapdragon 650 processor, the first Qualcomm Technologies’ chipset equipped with ARM’s top-end Cortex-A72 performance cores. Redmi Note 3 is exceptionally fast and is claimed to have an Antutu score of over 77,000. It features the latest Qualcomm Adreno 510 GPU, which provides impressive graphics performance for an unparalleled gaming experience as claimed by the company.
The Redmi Note 3 sports a 5.5 inch full HD 1080×1920 pixels IPS Sunlight display with 178 degree viewing angle. The display of this phone will enable you to see clearly even in sunlight. According to Xiaomi, the Sunlight Display dynamically adjusts the contrast of pixels to make content more visible under bright daylight. At night, turning on Reading mode will cut down blue light emitted by the display, which reduces eye fatigue. Since blue light suppresses melatonin, the hormone that aids sleep, cutting it down also helps you to sleep better.
This phone has new Wallpaper Carousel feature in MIUI 7 which delivers stunning wallpaper images daily, so your lockscreen looks refreshingly different every day.
The fingerprint sensor on Redmi Note 3 is placed below the rear camera and uses capacitive scanning technology for accurate, secure and fast performance. It is claimed to unlock the device in just 0.3 seconds. Besides unlocking, the fingerprint sensor has also other features such as the ability to lock apps, access hidden folders, take a front or rear camera selfie using your fingerprint.
The Redmi Note 3 is equipped with a 16 MP rear camera with LED flash. The rear camera has dual ISPs for more powerful post-processing of photos. It also comes equipped with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) for faster focusing, as well as “Local Tone Mapping”, which adjusts contrast at a pixel level to deliver images with much better contrast levels — close to what the eye can see in real life. It also houses a 5MP selfie camera.
The Redmi Note 3 is fully compatible with India’s cellular networks, and it supports all Indian LTE bands. In particular, the support for LTE Band 5 allows users to fully utilise the Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology incorporated in Redmi Note 3, which will make it possible for HD calls to be carried over 4G, even when indoors.
This is Dual-SIM device and supports 4G LTE on both the SIMs. It also offers other connectivity options of Bluetooth, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB etc. This phone runs on Android Lollipop-based MIUI 7 of Xiaomi.
In our opinion, the Redmi Note 3 is really a giant killer for new entrants such as Le 1S and will also pose serious threat to other brands who have recently launched mid-range smartphones especially Coolpad, Lenovo and Honor etc.
