Xiaomi Redmi 3 With 5 Inch HD Display & Massive 4100mAh Battery Announced

Xiaomi of China known for low-priced phones with high specifications has announced today Redmi 3 smartphone in mid-segment. The highlight of Xiaomi Redmi 3 is that it comes with huge 4100mAh battery.


This phone has full metal magnesium alloy unibody design and the back of the phone has cross pattern which is evident from the images of the phone. This phone has dimensions of 139.3×69.6×8.5mm and its weight is 144 grams.


From the hardware perspective, Xiaomi Redmi 3 features a 5 inch HD display with resolution of 720×1280 pixels. This phone is driven by and Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor octa-core processor ( 4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex A53) paired with 2GB LPDDR3 RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. It comess with 16GB of internal storage that is extendable to 128GB via micoSD card. It runs on Xiaomi’s  MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop OS.

On the iamging front, the Redmi 3 is equipped with 13MP rear camera with PDAF, dual-tone LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture and is capable of 1080p video recording. For the selfies, this phone houses 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and also supports full-HD recording.

The Redmi 3 supports 4G LTE connectivity and is compatible with LTE bands in India. It also provide other connectivity options of  Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS + GLONASS, Micro-USB etc.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3 will be available in Dark Grey, Silver and Gold colors. It has a price tag of approximately US $ 110. It will be available in China from 12th January and Xiaomi has not disclosed the schedule of global roll-out of it including India. Whenever it is launched in India, it is expected to be in the price range of Rs. 9,000.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3 will compete with the recently launche  Lenovo Vibe K4 Note which has screen size of 5.5 inch full HD, comes with 3GB RAM and is priced Rs. 11,999.
