At today’s event, YU also annoucned the launch of ‘Around YU’ for integrated search on the device. The Around Yu comes pre-loaded with Yutopia and saves the hassles of using multiple apps for cab booking, purchase of air tickets, searching for restaurants, shopping options etc. This app works like a search engine and if you want to have restaurant details, you just have to swipe right on the home screen to get multiple options of eating to choose from. Similarly, you get details for cab booking, airtickets etc without the need for downloading apps of different companies. For instance, no need to download apps of different Cabs providers like Taxi For Sure, Ola etc. The company will expand the portfolio for search options in due course of time. This has been made possible becuse YU has partnered with Zomato, Ixigo, and Scandid.
The other interesting announcement made by YU is its Assured upgrade programme. Under this, the customer buying Yutopia phone will have an option to upgrade to Yutopia 2 when the new device is launched in the future. From the design and hardware perspectives, the Yutopia looks quite promising. Whether it will turn out to be Killer Device, only coming days will tell the true story. We are hopeful of getting the reivew unit from the company next week and shall publish detailed review by the end of the month. Stay Tuned!
