ZTE, India announced today at a press conference in New Delhi that it has ambitious plans to expand its operations in India in the coming year. ZTE is China based company, and is global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions.
ZTE India is aiming to achieve minimum revenue of US Dollar 800 milion from its complete oeprations in India, which include smartphones,mobile broadband device, integrated desktop terminals, data cards and its other telcommunication products. To achieve this figure, ZTE India will be spending Rs. 60 crores for marketing and brand-building activities.
ZTE has given lot of importance to Indian market and despite telecom sector witnessing slow growth, ZTE India registered a substantial growth with overall revenues accounting to more than 400 million US Dollar until October 2013.
According to ZTE, its focus in 2014 will be on three key segments: 4G, high-end smartphones, and phones based on latest Android,Windows and Firefox platforms. ZTE India will also continue to focus on strengthening its 4G: TD-LTE and FDD-LTE, bearer and transmission network, FTTH, medium-sized Enterprise businesses and cloud computing in the next year.
ZTE India has entered the smartphone market of India few months ago by launching few smartphones in the price-range of Rs. 5000 to Rs. 15,000, in Western and South India. ZTE India plans to get pan India presence for its smartphones and intend to provide its smartphones in 6000 retail outlets across India. It also aims to sell 1.5 to 2 million smartphones in India by the end of 2014. To achieve this figure, ZTE will also be introducing hig-end smartphones in India in the price range of Rs. 30,000. Currently, ZTE has market share of 1.2% for its smartphones in India.
ZTE India has also forayed recently into the open market with data cards and accessories, and the heartening news for ZTE is that it has 63% market share of this segment in India.
To scale up its retail presence in smartphones and data cards, ZTE India has opened today its first Expereience Zone in Gurgaon, where the company’s latest smartphones and data cards will be showcased. The company will open such type of more stores in other prominent cities in the coming year. ZTE India will be opening its online stores in the first quarte of 2014 to sell its smartphones, data cards and accessories etc,.
ZTE India has also announced Door Step service for its smartphones and data cards. Incase of any problem faced by the consumer in above ZTE products, one need not visit the service centre of ZTE. ZTE service technician will visit you at your door step to provide you service.
ZTE India has supplied necessary equipments to Airtel for its 4G network operations in Kolkata and Chandigarh. ZTE products have decent presence in 3G network opertaions in India. ZTE is quite optimistic that after spectrum auctions, they will get good amount of business from telecom operators for helping them set-up their operations in India.
