The South Korean handset maker Samsung had introduced Galaxy Core Advance smartphone keeping in view the requirements of physically challenged users. Samsung has now announced three accessories for the Galaxy Core Advance, which are specially designed for disabled and visually impaired users and complement the existing features like the Optical Scan that automatically recognizes text from an image and reads it aloud to the user, Light Sensing technology that uses the device’s camera to sense light direction and brightness,Instant Voice Recorder that offers simplified access to make quick voice notes, Screen Curtain that enables users to operate commands on a black screen to ensure privacy and saves battery life, high quality TTS (Text-to-Speech) functionalities and Voice Guided Camera functions to help users take pictures by reading out the number of faces detected and their standing location.

The Ultrasonic Cover allows users to detect obstacles (upto 2 metres away) and navigate unfamiliar places by sending an alert through a vibration or TTS feedback.
The Optical Scan Stand positions the device to focus on printed materials, which recognizes text from an image and reads it aloud to the user.
The Voice Label assists users in distinguishing objects by allowing them to make notes and tag voice labels easily on-the-go. By using NFC technology, users can record, stop and access their notes.
Samsung has not disclosed the prices of these accessories.
The Samsung Galaxy Core Advance sports a 4.7-inch TFT display with a 480×800 (WVGA) pixels resolution, and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage, which can be expanded upto 64GB via micro SD card. The Galaxy Core Advance is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear autofocus camera with a LED flash and a VGA front camera. This smrtphone is packed with 2000 mAh battery. For connectivity options, it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, USB 2.0 H/S and GPS.
The Galaxy Core Advance incorporates dedicated keys for voice recorder, camera, volume, menu, home and power functions, ideal for those users who are less comfortable with a touch-screen experience. This smartphone also comes with smart features, including S Voice, S Translator, Sound & Shot, Group Play and Easy Mode, which are provided by other Galaxy series of smartphones.
