The leading Indian handsets maker Lava International is on a roll. Since 1st April, they have launched two new smartphones in their quite popular Iris series and one 7″ tablet. Today, they have announced another smartphone of Iris series dubbed as Iris 406Q, which is budget smartphone and priced at Rs. 7,499. LAVA Iris 406Q is available in black & white colors and can be pre-ordered exclusively on Flipkart, India’s largest online retail for the first few days. This smartphone will be available across national retail chain stores and multi-brand outlets by early next week. However, it will be available online only on Flipkart for the first month.
Lava International had launched Iris 550q smartphone with 5.5 inches display for Rs. 13,000 on 1st of April, Iris Pro 20 with 4.7 inches display at Rs. 13,999 on 7th April, and QPad e704 3G enabled tablet with 7 inches display at Rs. 9,999 on 4th April. Coming back to the Iris 406Q, this smartphone features 4.0 inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) display, and is powered by Quad Core, 1.2 GHz Processor(Qualcomm Snapdragon 200)with Adreno 302 @400MHz Graphics Unit. This smnartphone is equipped with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded upto 32GB via MicroSD card. The Iris 406Q is packed with 5MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera. This smartphone is fuelled by a 1700mAh battery and intuitive software Battery Guru, which according to Lava, learns usage patterns and conserves the smartphone battery.
The Iris 406Q is Dual SIM (WCDMA+GSMA with Dual Standby), 3G enabled, and supports Wi-fi, Bluetooth, USB, GPRS and EDGE for connectivity on the go. This smartphone runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.3 out-of-the-box that can be upgraded to Android 4.4 Kitkat.
The Iris 406Q comes equipped with Audio Plus software which is claimed to offer high-end surround sound, 3D audio and wider bass on headphones, and is capable of providing a crisp and crystal clear sound quality to users.
