Acer is particiapting in a big way in Computex 2014 which will kickstart on 3rd June. Ahead of this grand event in Taiwan, Acer has announced five smartphones(http://www.techvorm.com/acer-launches-liquid-e600-liquid-e700-liquid-z200-liquid-x1-smartphones/
) and also entering the wearable segment by announcing its first Liquid Leap Smartband. This smartband will be bundled with the Liquid Jade smartphone in selected markets.
According to Acer, the Liquid Lead is slim smartband and comes with 1-inch touch screen. This smartband is capable of tracking users’ fitness including steps, running distance, calories burned, and sleeping cycle. It can also inform the wearers about incoming call and SMS notification and its music control function lets users access the music library on their smartphone, and play, pause, switch to previous or next songs.
The Liquid Lead is claimed to be light weight ( its dimensions have not been provided so far) and stylish. It is packed with 7 days of battery life. For connectivity, it features Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, and shall be compatible with Liquid Jade smartphone. It is not clear whether this will be comapatible with other smartphones of Acer. This smartband is waterproof but its dustproof characteristic has not been clarified. This smartband will be available in a variety of colors such as Moonstone White, Mineral Black, Aquamarine, Fragrant Pink, and Vivid Orange.
The Liquid Jade smartphone is touted to have elegant design features with a curved ergonomic outline all-around, including the Gorilla Glass 3 display. This smartphone runs on the latest Android KitKat 4.4 OS and has following salient features:
- 5-inch IPS display with a 720×1280 pixel resolution, with Zero Air Gap technoloy, which offers a bright view
- 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB of built-in storage that is expandable upto 32GB via microSD card
- 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, 0.3 second autofocus, and 1080p HD video recording
- 2-megapixel front-facing camera
- Connectivity options : 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, A-GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack
- Dimensions : 140.5x69x7.5mm
- 2100mAh battery
Both the devices shall start shipping from Q3 2014. Acer has not disclosed the prices of above two devices.
