Skyscanner has launched its Hotels app for Android and iOS mobile devices. This is a user friendly application that offers Indian travellers an intuitive way to search, compare and book hotels all over the world. This app is an extension to Skyscanner’s web Hotels service, and will display unbiased results with the best rates.
According to the company, the Skyscanner Hotels app offers the same convenience to users seeking to book hotels through the Hotels app, as the Skyscanner flight search app which has over 30 million installations globally. With its proprietary search function, Skyscanner’s Hotels app puts hotel photos at the center of the app’s comparison feature, and makes it easy to swipe through images without having to leave the results page. The app also offers tools that can add to a traveller’s decision making process, including a map view that shows lodging options by location and points of interest, a feature that allows users to save options for a later decision, and a side by side comparison component to see how each accommodation measures up. The app also takes advantage of live room availability updates.
Commenting on the launch of the Hotels app, Kavitha Gnanamurthy, Senior Marketing Manager, Skyscanner India said,“With over 40% of Skyscanner’s visitors coming to us through mobile devices, we are excited to add this Hotels app to our offering. We found that often travellers may spend longer researching the perfect hotel than the actual length of their trip. The Skyscanner Hotels app aims to make that research time convenient and pleasurable – giving travellers all the tools they need, in one place, to be able to make the best choice, confidently and without hassle.”
