Taking into consideration arrival of 4G in India, Samsung has launched today two new mid-range 4G enabled smartphones in India – Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7. With the launch of these two 4G smartphones, Samsung has now 10 4G enabled handsets in its portfolio in different price range.
The Galaxy J5 is priced at INR 11,999 and the Galaxy J7 at INR 14,999, and these two models will be sold exclusively on Flipkart. These phones can be pre booked on Flipkart from July 16 to July 22 and the sale will start from 27th July.
Samsung has borrowed the design of its earlier Galaxy series of smartphones for Galaxy J5 and J7. These two new models come in plastic body and are slim. The slim and light weight devices enable users to have a comfortable grip while operating or playing a game on the phone. The Galaxy J5 has thickness of 7.9mm, whereas the Galaxy J7 is 7.5mm thick. Both the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 come with anti-smudge anodized CMF coating, which gives the devices a good look. These devices will be available in white and black colour options.
The Samsung Galaxy J5 sports a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display (1280×720 pixels resolution). It is packed with 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in storage, which is expandable to 128GB via microSD card. This phone is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera, LED flash and with f/1.9 aperture. It also houses a 5-megapixel front camera with LED flash. It comes with a 2600mAh battery. It has connectivity options of 4G besides 3G, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, NFC etc. This phone has dimensions of 142.1×71.8×7.99mm and its weight is 146 grams.
On the other hand, the Galaxy J7 comes with 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with resolution of 1280×720 pixels. It is driven by 1.5GHz octa-core Exynos processor coupled with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage extendable to 128GB. This handset is equipped with a 3000mAh battery. Rest of the features of Galaxy J7 are similar to that of Galaxy J5. This phone measures 152.5X78.7X7.5mm and its weight is 171 grams.
The Galaxy J7 almost looks like Galaxy Grand smartphone, which was sold by Samsung like hot cakes in India.
The Galaxy J5 and J7 are Dual-SIM and Dual Standby devices and run on Android Lollipop 5.1 OS. These phones also include popular features exclusive to GALAXY devices, such as Ultra-Power Saving Mode, Easy Mode and usage in 14 regional languages.
To make the buying more attractive, Samsung is bundling Galaxy J5 and J7 with various offfers. The users of the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 will get free in-game credits of up to INR 3,200 for prominent titles like Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5 among others. Moreover, these two phones will come with 4G SIM of Airtel in the box, which the customer will have to get it activated from Airtel. Moreover, Airtel will also provide an introductory offer for 4G users which will include double data offer. Customers will also get unlimited music download worth INR 594 through Wynk Music app for a period of 6 months. Besides this, the buyers of Galaxy J5 and J7 can purchase flip covers worth INR 999 at INR 199 only for a limited time period.
Samsung has launched these two 4G enabled smartphones at very attractive prices keeping inview invasion of Chinese smartphones in mid-range and there is good reasons for the buyers to go for these two devices as these come with good hardware features and Samsung’s wide service network across India. Plus Samsung has brand equity which the Chinese products still lack.
