The beginning of year 2016 will see the arrival of another popular brand of China setting its foothold in India. Letv of China has announced during an event in Beijing that it will be starting operations in India in early Janaury, 2016.
We expect that the Letv of China will enter India with LE 1S smrtphone which was launched in China two days ago. During the launch event, Letv also showcased its 120-inch uMax Super TV, which is the most expensive TV in the world and is priced equivalent to approximately Rs. 51 Lakhs.
As far as Letv LE 1S is concerned, it comes with high-end hardware. It flaunts a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) ISP display, 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and phase-detection autofocus, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 3000mAh battery, USB Type-C with fast-charging Speed Volt technology, fingerprint sensor below the primary camera on the back. This phone supports 4G LTE bands and Dual-SIM and also offers other standard connectivity options. This phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop based EUI 5.5 UI of Letv.
Keeping in view of aggressive pricing strategy of Letv as far as its smartphones are concerned, this phone is expected to be launched in the range of Rs. 11,000 in India.
Letv also has plans to take part in Make in India programme of Government of India and the company would also be looking at setting up production lines as well as R&D centres in India.
The Beijing based Letv said that it would be looking at replicating its highly successful content-device ecosystem in the country, providing users with a whole new entertainment based experience. It will be providing Indian consumers with local entertainment based content such as movies and TV shows and for this it would be forging partnerships with local content providers and creators to create the first of its kind entertainment and content based ecosystem in India.
