OnePlus has launched its third smartphone called the OnePlus X. Earlier, OnePlus had launched OnePlus One, which sold like hot cakes in India and the OnePlus 2 launched in August is also getting good response in India. The OnePlus X is the most affordable smartphone from the stable of OnePlus.
The OnePlus X smartphone launched today will be manufactured in India under Make in India initiative of Government of India and will be available in two variants – OnePlus X Onyx priced at Rs 16,999 and the OnePlus X Ceramic has a price tag of Rs 22,999, and this is limited edition variant.
Both the variant of OnePlus X will be sold exclusively by Amazon.in with their traditional invite system, which is not appreciated by many consumers in India as it is cumbersome procedure to buy the device. The OnePlus X Onyx will go on sale from November 5 onwards and the limited edition OnePlus X Ceramic will go on sale on November 24. For the first one month, these phones will be available via invite ssytem only and afterwards, they will be sold openly via weekly sales, which again is complicated method to sell the device.
The OnePlus X sports a 5 inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) Amoled display with 441ppi and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood is 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processsor coupled with Adreno 330 GPU with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It has internal storage of 16GB, which can be expanded upto 128GB via microSD card support.
On the optics front, this phone is equipped with a 13-megapixel ISOCELL rear camera with flash, f/2.2 aperture, fast 0.2-second autofocus and Phase Detection Auto Focus. It also houses an 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.4 aperture for clicking selfies.
This phone is powered by a 2,525mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 support. It also has FM radio and comes with Alert Slider, which was introduced on OnePlus 2, for easy notification adjustments on the left side of the device, and the power button and volume rocker are located on the right. This phone runs on Oxygen OS based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
It offers connectivity options of 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 4.0 etc. This phone is hybrid Dual-SIM device and both the slots can be used for Dual-SIM or one slot can be used for microSD card for enhancing the internal storage of the device. The weight of the Onyx variant is 138 grams whereas the Ceramic variant weight is 160 grams.
The OnePlus X Onyx is made of black glass on a metal bezel, which gives it a premium look and slightly rounded edges give the phone a fluid and seamless feel. This is the lightest and slimmest OnePlus device to date. The Ceramic version is crafted in a process totaling 25 days and is a feat of engineering and design, as claimed by the company.
For OnePlus X, the cases will be also be available in Rosewood, Black Apricot, Bamboo, Karbon, and Sandstone variants.
