As expected, Motorola has launched today its latest second generation Moto 360 (2015) Smartwatch in India at starting price of Rs. 19,999 This smartwatch was unveiled in the month of September. The new Moto 360 has been launched in five variants – three metal variants and two leather ones. Out of five, two variants are exclusively for women with a distinctive rose gold with blush leather and natural metal. While the men’s variants will be available in cognac, black leather and black metal. All the variants will be available only on Flipkart and Myntra, 7:30 pm onwards tonight, starting at INR 19,999.
The Leather and Rose Gold (42mm) variant has a price tag of Rs 19,999 whereas the Metal variant is priced at Rs 22,999, and the Black variant (46mm) is top of the range model with a price tag of Rs 23,999.
The difference between the second-generation Moto 360 smartwatch and the earlier Moto smartwatch is that it is lighter compared to the earlier one. The new smartwatch has been designed for slimmer and normal wrists to suit the requirements of men and women.
The new Moto 360 has been designed both for men and women. This watch comes in two sizes for men – 42mm and 46mm with the choice of having a 20mm and a 22mm watch band respectively. And for 42mm variant for women, it come with a slimmer 16mm watch band.
Motorola had introduced its first Moto 360 smartwatch which to be frank actually looked like a watch. They have further improved the design in the new smartwatch. The new Moto 360’s case design now features lugs specifically tailored for men and women, which enables users to change the watch straps with ease, and polished bezels in new styles. It is now made of different materials like horween leather and aircraft-grade 316L stainless steel. All the variants are dust and water resistant with IP67 certification.
The 42mm variant features a 1.37-inch display having resolution of 360×325 pixels at 263ppi pixel density and 46 mm variant has a 1.56-inch of screen with resolution 360×330 pixels at 233ppi. Both variants of displays are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Under the hood of both the variants is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked with Adreno 305 with 450MHz GPU and paired with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The 42mm variant is packed with 300mAh battery, which is claimed to last up to 1.5 days of mixed use with Ambient off and up to a full day of mixed use with Ambient on, whereas the 46mm has been provided with 400mAh battery, which is claimed to last up to 2 days of mixed use with Ambient off and up to a full day of mixed use with Ambient on.
The Moto 360 offers Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy and and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g.connectivity. It keeps you connected even if your phone is out of Bluetooth range. With this smartwatch, you can get notifications and important information at a glance and respond to messages with your voice without the need to take out your smartphone from your pocket.
The new Moto 360 also incorporates Moto Body, a holistic experience that helps you lead a healthier lifestyle.With this watch, you can keep track of your steps and know your herat rate as it has built-in pedometer and heart rate monitor. This watch has single physical button, which has been moved from the 3 o’ clock to the 2 o’ clock position. This watch has a vibration motor and dual microphones. This watch includes sensors like Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, and Gyroscope and a heart rate sensor.
Moto 360 runs on Google’s new Android Wear OS, which has been designed especially for wearable device. The new Moto 360 can be paired with Android smartphone and iPhones.
