Huawei has been getting good traction with its Honor brand and is launching one good smartphone after another. The latest device to come to India in the first week of January is Honor View 10. This phone is powered by Artificial Intelligence features and will be trend setting device. You may remember it was Huawei which made Dual Rear Camera a trend in smartphones and as a result, all the manufactureres were forced to come out with Dual cameras in their smartphones. It is another matter that implementation of this technology is not at par with Huawei range of smartphones. The Honor View 10 brings on table AI and going by the trend, we will see more smartphones with this technology in the coming days and months.
I will not take much of your time in explaining the design which you can look at in the following video of mine.
In nutshell, the design of this phone is excellent as it has very refined metal body which is durable and looks great in hand. This elegant looking phone has two rear cameras on the back with bump and looks as if two Minions are staring at you. Despite the size of display of 5.99 inch, you can easily manoeuvre it with singel hand. It has fingerprint sensor on the home button in the front which as usual is very fast and responds quickly.
Honor View 10 flaunts a 5.99-inch (2160 x 1080 pixels) Full HD+ display with a 2.5D curved glass on top. It has narrow bezels and comes with aspect ratio of 18:9. The display of this phone reproduces bright colors and its viewing angles are excellent. Sunligh visibilty is also good. You can enjoy watching multi-media content and gaming on this phone.
As I mentioned earlier, this phone incorpoartes Artificial Intelligence Featres and hence is powered by Huawei’s own latest HiSilicon Kirin 970 with four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.36GHz, four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz, and an i7 co-processor with built-in Neural Processing Unit for AI eco-system. This phone has Face Recognition feature also which has not failed me during my limited usage of the phone. This phone has features of Image to text translation, Intelligent Notification Lock, Intelligent Display Rotation etc. which we are testing and will come out with detailed review in due course.
This phone comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB with microSD. This phone is packed with 3750mAh battery with super fast charging. In my few days of usage, the phone has lasted for full day despite heavy usage.
On the imaging front, this phone is mounted with two rear cameras – 16MP (RGB) + 20MP (Monochrome) equipped with f/1.8 aperture, LED flash, PDAF and 4K video recording capability. The camera comes with various modes as shown below:
It has 13MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and you can click reasonably good selfies on this camera. Both the front and rear camera have Bokeh effect features for which Honor range of smartphones have mastered the art. Images clicked with rear cameras in daylight have very good contrast, depth and vibrancy as you can see in the following images:

This phone offers connectivity options of 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, USB Type-C and NFC. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with Emotion UI 8.0 on top.
To sum up, this phone has all the ingredients of a premium phone. Honor View 10 has the capability to give very tough competition to OnePlus 5T and even to other premium smartphones. We are not aware of price of this phone at the moment but quite confident that it will have aggressive pricing and may prove giant killer!
