Sony has launched today Xperia XZ2 smartphone in India which is packed with Snapdragon 845 processor, Full HD+ HDR display, and 4K HDR video recording capable camera at an exhorbitant price of Rs. 72,990. Available in Liquid Black color, this phone will start selling from 1st August. This phone was unveiled in MWC in Barcelona in the month of February this year.
The Xperia XZ2 is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 845 processor with Adreno 630 GPU. It comes with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory which is extendable upto 400GB with microSD card. This phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and is water resistant. This phone has fingerprint sensor and offers connectivity options of 4G VoLTE, Dual Nano Sim, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC and USB 3.1 Type-C. It also comes with stereo speaker with S-Force front surround.
The Xperia XZ2 has 5.7 inch Triluminos HDR Display with 18:9 aspect ratio ((2160 x 1080 pixels) with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is packed with 3180mAh Battery with Qnovo Adaptive Charging technology, Quick Charge 3.0 and Qi Wireless charging.
On the optics front, it is mounted with 19MP rear camera with Exmos RS sensor, f/2.0 lens, Predictive capture, 5-axis stabilization, 4K video recording and 960fps slow-motion video capabilty. For selfies, this phone has 5MP front-facing camera with 1/ 5 inch Exmor RS sensor and f/2.2 aperture.
This phone has dimensions of 153 x 72 x 11.1 mm and weighs 198 grams. Going by the trend in the Indian market where smartphones with high end features such as OnePlus 6, Vivo Nex, Xiaomi and even Samsung are available at very low prices, we wonder why a consumer would be interested to spend so much money on Sony’s phone?
