MG ZS EV Electric SUV which is launching in India on 5th December will run on next-gen i-SMART EV 2.0 Platform. Features of this interface are listed below:
The i-SMART EV 2.0’s hardware unit is powered by an all-new 6-core processor for a seamless user experience. It comes with an embedded Machine to Machine (M2M) eSIM. The platform is Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPV6) and 5G ready. It has been developed in association with Unlimit (A Reliance ADAG company) and is based on Cisco’s Jasper platform, with Airtel as the telecom partner.
In a segment-first, not only does the i-SMART EV 2.0 have an inbuilt embedded SIM providing internet onboard, the system can also be connected to an external Wi-Fi connection. This unique addition allows users to connect their MG ZS EVs to their home network and mobile hotspot, making it the first truly connected electric car in the country. The feature enables users to derive maximum internet speed for operation of the infotainment system.
The MG ZS EV’s i-SMART EV 2.0 system comes with dedicated EV features that provide real-time insights such as:
· Vehicle charging information and range
· Battery charge less alarm at less than 30%
· CO2 emission saved
· 360 Spider: finds charging stations when remaining range is less than 50 KM
With embedded maps and navigation solutions from TomTom, the navigation feature can find nearby charging stations, while also displaying all the relevant information such as the type of charger (DC/AC) and connector (CCS2, ChadeMO etc.). This information can also be viewed from the i-SMART EV 2.0 mobile app and saved to help users navigate to the charging station.
With a cloud-enabled, AI-based Voice Assistant powered by Nuance Communications, the i-SMART EV 2.0 can understand about 100 voice commands to control various features and functions of the vehicle, like “Open the Sunroof” and “Find me the nearest charging station”. Nuance’s conversational AI-powered mobility assistant has been developed for the Indian market to recognize Indian-accented speech. Leveraging Nuance’s state-of-the-art conversational AI and machine learning, the system understands and continuously learns the needs and preferences of drivers and passengers over time to provide an increasingly personalized and connected experience.
Continuing industry-first over-the-air updates with the ZS EV as well, the feature allows real-time software updates of the infotainment system at regular intervals directly without the customer having to visit the service center for updates.
The i-SMART EV 2.0 comes with a premium Gaana account as well as AccuWeather app. It also comes with the latest pre-loaded entertainment music and video content, which will be refreshed and pushed directly to the head unit by the company at regular intervals.
Consumer data will be stored securely in MG’s Cloud, powered by Microsoft Azure, within India.
