Xiaomi has introduced budget smartphone Redmi 9 under its Redmi brand. The Redmi 9 has Aura Design with textured back panel to prevent fingerprints. This phone sports a 6.35 inch IPS HD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display comes with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification. This phone is powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 processor with clock speed of upto 2.3GHz. This phone comes in two variants of 4GB RAM+64GB of storage and 4GB RAM with 128GB of storage which can be further extended upto 512GB via dedicated microSD card. This is Dual SIM supporting phone and has an additional slot for microSD card. The Redmi 9 is packed with 5000mAh battery.
For imaging, this phone comes with 13MP main camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For selfie, it has 5MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture. For security, this phone has face unlock and fingerprints sensor on the back. It runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 10. It offers connectivity options of Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, GPS and micro USB. The Redmi 9 comes equipped with P2i water resistant coating to protect the phone against accidental splashes.
This phone comes in three colors of Carbon Black, Sporty Orange, Sky Blue. It is priced INR 8999 for the 4GB+64GB variant and INR 9999 for the 4GB+128GB variant. It will be available across mi.com, Amazon India, Mi Homes and Mi Studios starting 31st August 2020.
