Alcatel Onetouch is the third company in India to announce their first low-end smartphone running on Firefox OS. Alcatetel Onetouch Fire 2C is the Firefox based OS and is priced at Rs. 1,990. This smartphone will be sold exclusively via Flipkart.com. The Fire C will be available in Blueish Black and Dark Chocolate colours.
The Fire 2C smartphone is the cheapest among Firefox OS based smartphones released earlier in the month of August by Intex and Spice.The Intex Cloud FX smartphone is priced at Rs. 1,990 and the Spice Fire One Mi – FX 1 carries a price tag of Rs. 2,299.
Based on the open web, the Firefox OS running Fire C has features like Adaptive App Search or the Single Window Search, which allows users to find all relevant information and apps available on the web together at a single click. The Firefox OS is developed by Mozilla and is running successfully in 17 countries.
Alcatetel Onetouch Fire 2C sports a 3.5 inch HVGA display with resolution of 320×480 pixels, and is powered by 1.0 GHz (Spreadtrum 6821) processor. It has meagre RAM of 128MB and 256MB ROM, which is extendable to 32GB via microSD card. It is equipped with 1.3MP Rear camera and there is no front camera on this device. Intex Cloud FX is Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) for 2G networks only and is packed with 1000mAh battery.
The Alcatel smartphone also supports 4 regional languages -English, Bangla, Tamil and Hindi. It also has FM radio.
