Asus has launched today much-awaited 7-inch FonePad tablet, which also has phone functionality. This phablet is the first device in the world to be powered by the latest 1.2GHz Intel Atom processor Z2420. This tablet was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona.The Asus Fonepad will be available in India from 30th April, at an MRP of Rs. 15,999/- across Croma stores and select Asus authorized retail outlet
Asus Fonepad is a sleek, compact tablet with a metallic design that can be held comfortably in one hand, thanks to its light 340g weight and slim 10.4mm profile. The 7-inch tablet, which features 10-point multi-touch, and incorporates 3G mobile data with full telephony support. It has a SIM card slot and a microSD card slot, which are not visible on the tablet and are neatly hidden. It runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and features a 1280 x 800 pixels HD resolution display with IPS technology. IPS technology ensures vibrant color with 178-degree wide viewing angles, and images that are clear and bright, even outdoors.
The tablet has 1GB of RAM, and comes with 8GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 32GB, with a microSD card. Fonepad users also get 5GB of free cloud storage for lifetime through Asus WebStorage for syncing and sharing data with other devices. The Fonepad is engineered with a 4270mAH battery which the company claims will give 9 hours of running time. It features a 1.2-megapixel front facing camera for easy video chat and a 3-megapixel autofocus rear camera with 720p HD video recording. Asus SonicMaster audio technology with MaxxAudio 3 processing by Waves ensures clear, well-rounded sound quality.
The Asus Fonepad comes with a number of exclusive Asus productivity apps: Floating App for easy management of running apps and multi-tasking; SuperNote lite for handwritten notes and drawing; and WebStorage Office Online for Microsoft Office-compatible document editing on the move.
