Asus of Taiwan has annonced today that its newly launched Zenfone 3 Max smartphone will be manufactured at the facility in Daman (Union Territory of Daman & Diu) under Make in India initiative of Government of India. The production of Zenfone 3 Max will start from December 2016. This will be the third smartphone to be locally manufactured by Asus after it initiated production of Zenfone 2 Laser and Zenfone Go, last year.
Commenting on the announcement, Peter Chang, Region Head – South Asia & Country Manager for ASUS India said, “Besides our headquarters, Taiwan, India is amongst the most important markets for us and we are constantly looking to strengthen our presence and operations in the country. We are excited to announce another smartphone that will be manufactured locally, apart from Zenfone 2 Laser and Zenfone Go. India is on its way to becoming a world leader in mobile phone manufacturing and we are proud to contribute to such a dynamic economy.”
The Zenfone 3 Max was launched in two variants with 5.5 inch (ZC553KL) and 5.2 inch (ZC520TL) displays and are priced at INR 17,999 and INR 12,999 respectively.
The Zenfone 3 Max ((ZC553KL) features a 5.5 inch FHD display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and comes with 2.5D contoured glass. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa-core 64-bit processor with Adreno 505 GPU. It has 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be extended upto 128GB via microSD card.
It comes with 16MP PixelMaster rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, five-prism lens, 0.03s Laser AF, Phase Detection AF, Electronic Image stabilisation for videos and Dual Flash. This phone is equipped with 8MP PixelMaster front camera with f/2.2 aperture.
On the other hand, the Asus Zenfone Max (ZC520TL) has 5.2 inch HD display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and 2.5D contoured glass. It is driven by Quad-core 64-bit processor with Mali T720 combined with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is expandabel to 64GB.
It has 13MP PixelMaster rear camera with five-prism Largan lens and capability of 52MP Super Resolution. For the selfies, this phone is equipped with 5MP PixelMaster front camera with f/2.2 aperture.
Both the phones are packed with 4100mAh battery which also enable you to do Reverse Charging of your other devices and it also has Super Saving mode to enhance its life.
Both the phone come with fingerprint scanner on the back which is claimed to unlock the phone swiftly in 0.3 seconds. Besides unlocking, you can also capture selfies with the fingerprint scanner. Both the phones run on Android Marshmallow OS with ZenUI 3.0 on top of it.
On the connectivity front, both the phones offer options of 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1,Wi-Fi: 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct and hotspot. Both the phones have hybrid Dual SIM slots.
These phones have premium-crafted all-aluminum-alloy design with slim 2.25mm bezel and 73% screen-to-body ratio. They come in Titanium Gray, Glacier Silver, and Sand Gold colors.
