Asus ROG Phone II Starts Getting Android 10 Update From Today

Asus ROG Phone II which was launched last year has started getting latest Android 10 update from today. The Android 10 update for ROG Phone II will be available from today via a firmware-over-the-air (FOTA) update that will be rolled out incrementally worldwide, with broader availability expected shortly as stated by Asus.

The ROG II is gaming smartphone and the latest Android 10 update will bring Dark theme that can be enabled or disabled for specific apps or the entire phone, making it easier on the eye in dim environments. Another feature of Android 10 is Gesture Navigation which allows users to perform common tasks, such as navigate back, go to the home screen, or launch Google Assistant, with simple swipe and pull gestures. Privacy has also been improved in Android 10 to give users easier control over their personal data: all privacy controls are now in one place, and users can customize how location information is shared with apps.

This new update also includes several new system improvements and bug fixes in ROG Phone II.

The ROG Phone II sports a 6.59” inch (2340×1080 pixels,391ppi) AMOLED True 10 Bit HDR 120Hz refreshed dispay with 1ms response time with protection of Corning Gorilla Glass. This phone is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 855 Plus processor with Adreno 640 GPU (675MHz). It comes with updated GameCool II multi-level cooling system with a large 3D vapor-chamber which enable the phone to deliver full-speed performance for longer period of time and does not allow the phone to heat up.

This phone comes in two variants of 8GB/12GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB/ 512GB (UFS 3.0) storage. This phone is packed with massive 6000mAh battery with 18W quick charger in the box and optional 30W ROG Hyper Charger priced at Rs. 1999 which is claimed to charge the battery up to 66% in just 58 minutes. The battery can be charged with any USB Type-C charger and can conveniently charge other devices with reverse charging functionality.

For imaging, this phone is armed with 48MP rear camera with Sony IMX586 sensor, f/1.79 aperture, secondary camera of 13MP with 125° ultra-wide FOV and f/2.4 aperture. This phone has 24MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and pixel size of 1.8µm. The camera is strategically positioned at the right top side to enable high-quality video streaming while gaming. Both the front and the back cameras support EIS for blur-free videos.
