At the ongoing CES 2017 in Las Vegas, Asus has announced the world’s first Tango-enabled and Daydream-ready smartphone – Asus ZenFone AR. This phone is packed with upto 8GB RAM and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS with Zen UI 3.0 on top.
Tango is a set of sensors and computer-vision software by Google that enables unique AR ( augmented reality) user experiences on a smartphone, such as AR gaming, AR utilities, and indoor navigation. Daydream is Google’s platform for high quality, mobile virtual reality and supports Daydream VR apps. ZenFone AR was developed in close cooperation with Google to deliver the best Tango and Daydream experiences, as stated by Asus.
This phone comes with Asus TriCam system, a three-camera system consisting of a 23MP Sony IMX318 main camera with motion-tracking and depth-sensing features, Dual-tone LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, 6P Largan lens, 4-axis OIS, Laser AF, 3-axis EIS (electronic image stabilisation) for video recording and support for 4K video recording. For selfies, this phone is equipped with 8MP front-facing camera, f/2.0 aperture and 85-degree wide-viewing angle.
This phone sports a 5.7-inch (2560 × 1440 pixels) Quad HD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is packed with the latests 2.3GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 821 processor with Adreno 530 GPU. This phone will be available in 6GB / 8GB LPDDR4 RAM and internal storage of 32GB / 64GB / 128GB / 256GB with expandable memory via microSD support. This phone has Hybrid dual SIM (micro+nano/microSD) support.
This phone gets its juice from 3300mAh battery which comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. It has connectivity options of 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac5 GHz 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C. It has fingerprint scanner at the front embedded on the home button.
This phone will start rolling out in Q2 of 2017 and the prices will be revealed at the time of launch.
