Facebook, the most favourable social networking platform, has announced that Mentions, a new app that makes it easy for public figures to discover and join conversations on Facebook, is now available in India and over 40 other countries around the world.At the moment, Mentions is available on iPhone to people with verified Pages and it was launched in the U.S. a couple of weeks ago.
Nearly 800 million people are connected to public figures on Facebook, and interacting with athletes, musicians, actors and other influencers is an important part of their experience. From cheering on World Cup players to checking out updates from favorite celebrities, there are more than a billion interactions between public figures and their fans on Facebook every week, notes Allison Swope, Product Manager on the blog page of Facebook.
He further ellaborates that Facebook Mentions is a new Facebook Creative Labs app that makes it easy for public figures to talk with their fans and each other on the go. As a public figure, Facebook Mentions lets you:
- see what fans are saying about you and join the conversation
- share your story by posting updates, sharing photos or videos, or hosting a live Q&A
- join popular conversations on Facebook and see the latest posts from people you follow
- get streamlined notifications about your posts, including mentions from other influencers or the media
Mentions is now available for download on iPhone in the App Store in more than 40 countries around the world.
