Flipkart, the leading e-commerce portal in India has tied-up with South Korean giant, Samsung to sell its complete range of TVs. Despite the fact that Samsung India has over 2,100 exclusive brand stores and a retail footprint of over 1.5 lakh stores across the country, they have tied-up with Flipkart to meet the growing demands of the online customers spread across the country who feel comfortable to do online shopping even for high-valued products.
Some of the Tvs will be sold exclusively by Flipkart such as Samsung 40 inch (102 cm) Full HD (1920 x 1080) Smart, Curved LED television. This TV has three HDMI, two USB slots and is equipped with Wi-Fi direct and Ethernet. With a refresh rate of 100Hz, this TV boasts of an eco-sensor that measures the intensity of light in a room and automatically calibrates the image brightness on the television. The device has two speakers and comes with sound technologies – Dolby digital plus and DTS Codec. Priced at Rs. 68,900, this TV is now open for bookings, and will be delivered in 3 days by Flipkart.
According to Flipkart, the Indian television market is estimated to grow to 42,000 crore by 2020. The 40 inch size television segment already boasts of 25% market share and is expected to grow by 50% in the next 2 years. This growth can be attributed to the affordability, disposable incomes, availability and rising number of nuclear families.
