As blogged by us earlier, Samsung will be launching its latest flagship smartphone Galaxy S5 in India on 27th March in India. This event will be streamed live at 12 PM local time on 27th March and you can watch this at :
As you are aware the Galaxy S5 was unveiled at the MWC in Barcelona in Febbruary and Samsung had announced that global roll-out will begin from 11th April onwards. We expect that Samsung will start accepting pre-orders for Galaxy S5 from tomorrow onwards and it will hit the retail shelves on 11th April across India.
Another curiosity among Samsung fans is about its probable price in India. As per sources, the Galaxy S5 will have price tag in the range of Rs. 42,000 to 45,000. Some retailers are speculating that it could even be priced around Rs. 52,000. But, we firmly believe that Samsung will have taken into consideration the price of competitive smartphones of LG,Sony and HTC etc,. and would not like it to be beyond the reach of the prospective customers. In our opinion, India being very price conscious market, the Galaxy S5 should be in the range of Rs. 40,000 to see its fast movement in the market. However, this mystery will be solved tomorrow afternoon. Wait for the announcement from us as we shall be covering this launch event.
The Galaxy S5 features a 5.1-inch FHD Super AMOLED (1920 x 1080) display, and is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM plus 16GB/ 32GB internal memory, which can be expanded upto 64GB via microSD card. It runs on latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat, and is fuelled by a 2800mAh battery, which according to the company, will have standby time of 390 hrs and talk time of 21 hrs. This smartphone comes with the Ultra Power Saving Mode feature, which turns the display to black and white, and shuts down all unnecessary features to minimize the battery consumption.
The key features of Galaxy S5 is its fingerprint scanner, dust and water-resistance capabilities, 16-megapixel rear camera, and also comes with lifestyle improved S Health 3.0 application, which offers more tools to help people stay fit and well. It provides a comprehensive personal fitness tracker to help users monitor and manage their behavior, along with additional tools including a pedometer, diet and exercise records, and a new, built-in heart rate monitor.
