Gionee A1 smartphone which was unveiled in India last month has got huge response so far. Gionee has claimed that it has received 74,682 pre-orders worth Rs. 150 crores in the first ten days, till April 9, 2017. Gionee A1 is selfie + battery focused smartphone and is attractively priced Rs. 19,999.
In its statement, Gionee has announced that they have been celebrating the success of A1 with its initial customers on the streets and retail front with midnight launches in select cities across India since yesterday. According to the pre-order terms and conditions, customers were offered a two-year warranty on the phone along with attractive gifts such as JBL headphone or a Swiss Military Bluetooth Speaker.
Commenting on the milestone, Arvind R Vohra, Country Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD), Gionee India said, “We are overwhelmed by the reponse of our customers to Gionee’s first flagship of the year. The pre-booking figures, the highest for any phone in the Rs 8k-25k range, are testimony to our proposition of offering advanced selfie capabilities with longer battery life in our phones. To reinforce this trust in our customers, we are hosting mid night launches of A1 in various cities so none of our customer has to wait till next day morning to get onboard for the Gionee experience.”
The A1 is equipped with 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens and selfie flash. It also comes with 13MP rear camera with AF, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens and flash.
This phone features a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED Display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) SoC combined with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM extendable to 256GB.
This phones run on Android 7.0 Nougat OS with layer of Amigo 4.0 on the top. The A1 has 4010 mAh battery with 18W ultrafast charge and dual charging chips.
This phone has fingerprint sensors on the home button which can unlock the phone in just 0.2 seconds. For the humid Indian conditions, the sensor unlocks the device even with moist fingers.
This is Dual SIM (Hybrid slot) phone and offers connectivity options of 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/N, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro USB(OTG support) and GPS.
