Chinese handsets maker Gionee has unveiled today its slimmest smartphone, which is knowns as Gionee Elife S5.5. At just 5.5mm thick, this smartphone is claimed by Gionee to be the slimmest smartphone in the world. This smartphone is priced at US$ 370 and will be available for pre-order in China. This smartphone will be available in Black, White, Blue, Pink, and Purple colors. This device will be globally rolled-out in 40 countries in the second quarter of 2014. According to Gionee, the LTE version of Elife S5.5 will also be available in June.
The ELIFE S5.5 will be on display during the 2014 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from 24th to 28th February.
The Elife S5.5 sports a 5″ Full HD Super AMOLED screen, and is driven by Octa-core 1.7GHz processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. It is equipped with a 13 megapixel rear camera with 95 degree ultra-wide angle, and 5 megapixel front camera. This single SIM samrtphone is packed with non-removable 2300mAh Battery.
This smartphone runs the company’s Amigo UI on top of Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS.The Elife S5.5 comes with the camera software, which is similar to the flagship ELIFE E7, and which consists of two shooting modes, the professional and normal camera settings, as well as the availability of the “Charm Camera” which includes auto make-up mode, footprint mode, and meeting memo mode features.

Only two days ago, Gionee has launched in India GPad G4 with 5.7 inches display at Rs. 18,999 and M2 with 5 inches display at Rs. 10,999. Gionee ELife E7 launched in India at the end of year 2013, is getting good response in the market.
