As expected, LG has officially unveiled LG G2 Mini smartphone, which is compact version of its flagship LG G2. The LG G2 Mini incorporates most of the G2’s premium UX features such as Guest Mode, Plug & Pop, Clip Tray and Capture Plus. This smartphone will be showcased at the upcoming MWC in Barcelona, alongwith LG G Pro 2 and LIII series of smartphones.
The LG G2 Mini is the first compact version smartphone of the flagship smartphone from the stable of LG. LG has followed the practice adopted by Samsung,HTC and Sony, who have also come out with compact versions of their premium devices.
The G2 mini will start rolling out in March with the 3G Dual SIM model in CIS countries followed soon after by major markets in the Middle East, Latin America and Asia including Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan and Europe. LG has not revealed the price of this smartphone and as usual, the same will be disclosed close on the heels of its availability in the respective markets.
The LG G2 sports a 4.7-inch screen with 540×960 pixels resolution, which is comparatively larger than the mini variants of smartphones launched by companies like HTC, Sony and Samsung. However, G2 Mini display is not a full-HD as is the case with display of LG G2. This smartphone runs on the latest Android KitKat 4.4 OS, and will come in two variants – one driven by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and the other on Nvidia Tegra 4i chip along with 1GB RAM coupled with 8GB of internal memory expandable via a microSD card.The G2 mini will be equipped with an 8MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front facing camera.
The LG G2 will be available inTitan Black, Lunar White, Red, Gold colors and like G2, it will have all buttons on the rear, which was an innovative feature of LG G2.
