Chinese handsets maker Gionee, which had launched their latest flagship smartphone Elife S 5.5, in the month of March, has announced its availability in the Indian market. It was supposed to start selling from 27th April but was delayed for few days. This smartphone is priced at Rs. 22,999 and can be bought from Gionee’s e-store www.gionee.co.in/
Gionee ELife S 5.5 is just 5.5 mm thick, and is claimed by Gionee to be the slimmest smartphone in the world. The Elife S5.5 derives its name from its prominent feature of its slimness.
The Elife S5.5 sports a stylish metallic body with a 5 inch Full HD Super AMOLED screen with 1080×1920 pixels with a pixel density of 441ppi, and is driven by Octa-core 1.7 GHz processor, coupled with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. It is equipped with a 13 megapixel rear camera with 95 degree ultra-wide angle, and 5 megapixel front camera. This single SIM smartphone is packed with non-removable 2300mAh Battery.
The Elife S5.5 runs the company’s Amigo UI on top of Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS.The Elife S5.5 comes with the camera software, which is similar to the flagship ELIFE E7, and which consists of two shooting modes, the professional and normal camera settings, as well as the availability of the “Charm Camera” which includes auto make-up mode, footprint mode, and meeting memo mode features.
For connectivity, the Elife S5.5 supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, USB OTG, and FM radio. This smartphone measures 145.1 x 70.2 x 5.55mm and weighs 130 grams.
The ELIFE S5.5 was announced in China in the month of February, 2014 and subsequently showcased during the 2014 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from 24th to 28th February, where it received rave reviews.
