Google has announced its mid-range Google Pixel 4a smartphone which will go on sale in US from 20th August but it will be arriving in India in the month of October. The Google Pixel 4a is powered by an Octa Core Snapdragon 730G processor with Adreno 618 GPU which has Titan M security chip. The processor is assisted with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage which is not extendable. This phone is packed with 3140mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. This phone runs on the latest Android 10 and will be updated to Android 11 shortly.
The Pixel 4a has polycarbonate body with matte finish. This phone sports a 5.81-inch (1080 x 2340 pixels) FHD+ OLED punch hole display with HDR support and protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which is not the latest version. For security, this phone has finger print sensor on the back.
For photography, this phone is packed with 12.2MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, LED flash with capabilites of 4K video recording. The camera has many feattures such as HDR+ with dual exposure controls, Portrait Mode, Top Shot, Night Sight with astrophotography capabilities and fused video stabilization. For selfie, the phone has 8MP front shooter with 84° ultra-wide lens and f/2.0 aperture.
The Pixel 4a also comes with various other features like Recorder, which connects with Google Docs to seamlessly save and share transcriptions and recordings (English only) and the Personal Safety app for real-time emergency notifications. It also has Live Caption, which provides real-time captioning (English only) for your video and audio content. The new Google Assistant on Pixel 4a will now be available in German, French, Spanish and Italian, in addition to English, with more languages coming soon. For connectivity, this phone offes various options of 3.5mm audio jack, Stereo speakers, microphones, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2x2MIMO, Bluetooth 5.1 LE, GPS, USB Type-C Gen 1 and NFC.
This phone comes in one color of jet black only and is priced USD 349. Initially, it will go on sale in US from 20th August. It will be coming to India in the month of October and the Indian price will be revealed close to the launch. Google is also bundling this phone with three-month free trials of YouTube Premium and Google One for storage.
Google has also announced Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 which will be available in the US and other coungtries later but will not be coming to India.
