Google Sends Media Invite For Android Event On October 29th In New York

Many reports were swirling in the media and on internet about possible launch of the next Nexus smartphone by Google, to be made by LG on the design of its highly successful and recently announced  Optimus G smartphone . And now Google has sent out media invitations for an Android event to be held in October 29th in New York.

The invitation reads “The playground is open” with “Join us for an Android event” at the bottom. If reports are to be believed, Google will most probably co-host the event with LG where it is likely to introduce the next version of Android – version 4.2, rumored to be named Key Lime Pie – along with a new phone, presumably a Nexus based on LG’s recently announced Optimus G.

The phone is expected to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 1280 x 768 True-High Definition IPS display, an 8-megapixel camera, and a non-removable battery. It will have 8 GB to 16 GB of internal storage, and no microSD card slot.

Speculation is also rife that Google may announce multiple Nexus devices and this has gained momentum from the wording of invitation which mentions, ” The playground is open “. It has a become a tradition among bloggers, trade analysts to analyse minutely each and every word of even invitation of tech giants like Google, Apple, Samsung and Microsoft.

But Google has made the month of October very interesting by announcing its event. Many more exciting products are scheduled to be announced this month which include iPad mini by Apple,Windows 8 OS and Surface Tablet by Microsoft.
