After lot of speculations, it is confirmed now that Google is now set to launch its much-anticipated Moto X smartphone in New York on 1st August. Google has sent out invitation to the media for the event on 1st August,accompanied by a teaser that reads: “Come experience the new Motorola”. The Moto X smartphone is made by Motorola, whcih was bought by Google. Till date, Google has not earned anything from this buy-out and this will be the first device from the stable of Motorola after Google took over the company. This phone will be assembled in Texas facility of Motorola.
It is expected that Moto X will sport a 4.5 inch display, and will be powered by 1.7GHz Snapdragon processor alonside 2GB of RAM. It is also widely speculated that the Moto X will be the first smartphone to run Google’s latest Android 4.3 version of Jelly Bean OS. Since this device is Google’s own home production, it makes sense to believe that Google will launch new version of OS on Moto X.
It is also being speculated that Moto X will be loaded with many key features like Google’s voice-command service — Google Now, handy motion-sensing capabilities, and tapping etc.
Regarding the guessing game on pricing of Moto X, Google is going to set the smartphone market on fire with this device. Moto X is expected to be available with contract on all the US carriers and to pose serious challenge to the established brands, it will be priced around US$ 199 without contract.
