Google To Train Goenka University Students For Creating Future Android Developers

To create future Android developers in the country, the GD Goenka University (GDGU) has joined hands with Google to provide world-class Android Developer education to its students. Android platform is quite popular in the world and majority of smartphones and tablets are run on Android OS.

Expressing happiness on the development, the Vice Chancellor of G.D. Goenka University, Prof (Dr) Deependra Kumar Jha, said: “Mobile technology is the future, and this agreement will give our students the skills that they need to go out and compete with the world’s best.”

As part of this initiative, Google will train the University’s Faculty first. It will also share reference materials and provide guidelines for lab exercises (including developer tools).

The main aim of Google’s Android Skilling Program is to train 2 million developers in India. As per data shared by Google VP, Mr Caesar Sengupta, only 4% of the top 1,000 Android apps on Play Store come from India, but the country is on its way to becoming one of the largest developer hubs in the world by 2018.

The GD Goenka University located in Gurgaon is a Private University focussed on providing quality education. GD Goenka University has engaged the best and brightest faculty to guide students, engage their minds and raise their horizon. This is done by creating regular and systematic opportunities for students to interact with a broad range of industries and service sectors.
