Although Google had to cancel its much awaited Android event of 29th Oct due to Superstorm Sandy, yet the company did not disappoint the Android lovers by launching slew of its new devices on its official blog. Google has unveiled Nexus 4 smartphone which is made by LG, Nexus 10 tablet made by Samsung,upgraded version of Nexus 7 and upgraded version of Android 4.2, which is still called Jelly Bean.
Nexus 4 is the snappiest smartphone in the Nexus line-up from Google, which will be available starting next month in select markets. This smartphone is made of a sophisticated hardware design from LG and comes with latest 4.2 version of Android Jelly Bean operating system. “This is the first time we collaborated with LG to build a Nexus device,” said Andy Ru-bin, Senior Vice President of Mobile and Digital Content at Google.
The Nexus 4 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor , and features vibrant 1280 x-768 pixels 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus display and 2 GB of RAM. The screen size of Nexus 4 is larger than Apple’s recently released iPhone 5 and just slightly smaller than Samsung’s flagship phone, the Galaxy S III. Nexus 4 boasts of wireless charging, and you just have to set the phone down on a charging surface to power it up, no wires needed. This phone is having a high-performance 8 MP camera.With this camera, the company has reinvented the photo experience with Photo Sphere, which lets you capture shots up, down, and in every direction to create 360-degree experiences that you can share on Google+. You can also add your Photo Sphere to Google Maps for the world to see.
Nexus 4 comes with the latest Google apps, and the latest version of Google Now is built-in, which keeps you even more organized – get reminders about upcoming flights, restaurant reservations, hotel confirmations and even nearby photo opportunities – when and where you need them.
A 16 GB model of the Nexus 4 will sell for $199 with a two-year contract to buy phone service and Internet access from T-Mobile. A contract-free version is available for $299 with 8 GB of storage and $349 for the 16 GB model. Nexus 4 is GSM/HSPA+ compatible so it will operate on more than 200 network providers worldwide. It will be available to purchase in both an 8 GB version and a 16 GB version on Google Play starting November 13 in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Australia. Offline availability in Europe, Central/South Americas, Asia, CIS and the Middle East will begin from the end of November. Google has not announced yet when this phone will be available in India.
