Great Lakes Institute of Management, which started with humble beginning in 2004 in Chennai, and moved to the world class 27.5 acres LEED platinum-rated green campus near Mahabalipuram in 2009, has completed 10 years of its successful journey of imparting professional education and nurturing talent in India. Great Lakes was founded in 2004 by Padma Shri Dr. Bala V. Balachandran with a vision of becoming the leading Management Institution in India providing quality education at an affordable cost and Human capital for emerging economies.
Great Lakes Institute of Mangagemetn offers three full time management courses, which are one year Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM), two years Post Graduate Diploma in Management(PGDM), and two years Post Graduate Program in Mangagement – Energy(PGMP Energy). Besides these, this institute also offers five executive courses and numerous customized programs for the leading corporate houses. Great Lakes has also pioneered several academic curricular innovations like Karma Yoga, a leadership experiental programme to give students first-hand experience in applying leadership qualities to solve real world community problems. Great Lakes has more than 3000 students on its rolls to pursue different programmes run by it. To celebrate their success story so far, Great Lakes Institute of Management organised an event in New Delhi on the eve of Teacher’s Day. On this occasion, a book titled “Global Mindset Indian Roots-Thought Leadership and beyond” was released by Chief Guests, Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Joint MD Hero Motorcorp Ltd, and Mr. D Shivkumar, Chairman and CEO, Pepsi Co India, in the presence of Prof. Bala. This book is a collaboration of select speeches delivered by global leaders and thought leaders during their visits to Great Lakes.
