HTC Desire 820 smartphone, which was launched at the recently concluded IFA in Berlin, has won the award for “Best of Show” smartphone by Android Authority.The Desire 820 is the successor to the popular HTC Desire 816. It comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 64-bit, multi-core processor, which will benefit the user for the upcoming release of Android L when the update is available. This smartphone also offers 4G LTE connectivity.
HTC dubs its Desire 820 a “premium mid-range” smartphone. It has various eye-catching features such as BoomSound with dual front facing speakers, sleek design, large beautiful screen and a powerful rear and front facing camera for taking great photos and the occasional intimate selfie’s, which makes the HTC Desire 820, an eye grabber for the young-at-heart.
The HTC Desire 820 features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixel) displays and an 8MP front-facing camera and a rear 13MP camrea with BSI sensor and f/2.2 aperture, which is claimed to capture quality images in both daylight and low light. It also incorporates Face Fusion software, which allows you to merge your features with those of a friend or celebrity for a completely original look; real time Live Makeup, which allows you to preview the image and set the desired level of skin smoothing before the image is captured and Photo Booth, where you can capture several moments in a single image.
The Desire 820 is driven by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 ( 1.5 GHz, Octa-Core CPUs & 1.0 GHz, Octa-Core CPUs) coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage which can be extended upto 128GB via microSD card. It is packed with 2600mAh battery and measures 157.7 x 78.74 x 7.74 mm. It has weight of 155 grams. This smartphone runs on Android KitKat 4.4 OS with HTC Sense on top of it.
For connectivity, the Desire 820 offers options of 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi: IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n (2.4 & 5 GHz) DLNA and micro-USB 2.0 (5-pin) port.
HTC Desire 820 will be available later this fall in Marble White, Tuxedo Grey, Santorini White and Milky-way Grey color variants. It is not known yet when this will be launched in India.
