At an event in Mumbai last week, HTC has announced that its HTC Desire Eye smartphone will be sold exclusively by Amazon.in and would be available in India in the month of November. HTC has not revealed the priced of this smrtphone, which will be announced close on the heels of its availability.
HTC Desire EYE incorporate very high-powered camera features. HTC touts the Desire EYE, “a category-shifting phone.” The HTC Desire EYE sports13MP front and rear cameras, with HTC’s new EYE Experience and Zoe. Its BSI sensors claim to capture crisp photos, even in low-light conditions, and dual-LED flash on both cameras provides flattering, natural tones when ambient light levels drop further.
The HTC EYE has fast tracking feature, which enables you to track up to four people in the same room with each face cropped and positioned on the screen for maximum clarity. For instance when you are using Skype, you now need not worry where you or your friends are standing, as the camera will follow everyone. With the new Split Capture function, you can combine simultaneous photos and videos taken on the front and back cameras into one split-screen image or video.
The Desire EYE has very interesting Voice Selfie feature. The camera will start clicking or recording video the momeny you “say cheese” as soon as you have struck the perfect pose or trigger the video recording with “action” or “rolling” commands. This smartphone also has face fusion technology, allowing you to merge your face with that of a friend or celebrity for a completely original look and Live Makeup.
Moreover, with Zoe video-editing app, one can remix their photos and videos into stylish highlight reels, with beautiful themes and soundtracks that can be shared. It also allows your friends to remix their content with yours for creating the highlight video for all to enjoy and share through their favorite social networks.
This smartphone sports a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD display with Corning Gorilla glass protection. It is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. This smartphone runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with new HTC Sense 6.0 suprimposed on it.
The Desire EYE is packed with 2400 mAh battery, which is stated to last up to 20 hours of talk time and up to 538 hours on standby mode. This smartphone is water-proof and comes with dual front-facing cameras with BoomSound technology. For connectivity, this smartphone offers options of 4G LTE/ 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and GPS with GLONASS.
HTC EYE Experience features will also roll out to HTC One (M7), HTC One (M8), HTC One E8, HTC One mini, HTC One mini 2, HTC One max, HTC Desire 816, HTC Desire 820 and HTC Butterfly 2 in the coming months.
