It is raining smartphones and tablets and September month is full of excitement for reporting new launches taking place in US. After Samsung’s announcements in pre-IFA event in Berlin, the scene shifted to US where Nokia, Motorola and Amazon announced their new devices. Now, it appears to be the turn of Taiwan based HTC to showcase their new tablets and Windows 8 phone. As per unconfirmed reports, HTC is organising an event in New York on 19th September, 2012 to unveil two tablets on Android platform.
One of the HTC tablets is expected to have a 7-inch screen and will be powered by latest Android Jelly Bean topped by HTC’s Sense. This tablet is speculated to feature Scribe digital pen, 1280X768-pixel display, Snapdragon S4 processor, 3 megapixel rear camera and 1 megapixel front camera.
The second tablet is rumored to be a 10″ inch tablet powered by a Tegra 3 processor with 1 GB RAM and may sport an unusual design. The other features of this tablet have not been churned out so far by rumour mills.
HTC will have to take cautious path in releasing its tablets as these will be challenged by recently announced Galaxy Note of Samsung and new HD Kindle Fire announced yesterday by Amazon.com with some innovative features like Immersion Reading, X-Ray for movies and books. Moreover, these tablets are priced in an attractive manner from $ 199 onwards as Amazon’s main source of income is from its contens and not from hardware, which is sold by them to get the customers to its fold. HTC will have to finetune its prices taking this significant aspect of Kindle Fire, in mind. In the coming days, Apple will also announce its mini iPad and Microsoft its Surface tablet, which will also make life difficult for HTC’s tablets.
HTC is also rumoured to announce its new Windows 8 smartphones in the upcoming event. Let us see what HTC brings out from its stable on 19th September, 2012!
