Huawei of China has launched today two smartphones in their Honor series in India – Honor 6 and Honor Holly. At the launch event in New Delhi, Huawei has announced that the Honor 6 is priced at Rs. 19,999 and will be exclusively available via e-commerce portal Flipkart, from 6th October onwards. However, Huawei has not revealed the price of Honor Holly and the exact date of its availability. It is expected to be available in India in couple of weeks through Flipkart only.
The Honor 6 smartphone sports a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) with a pixel density of 445ppi, and is powered by Huawei’s octa-core Hi Silicon Kirin 920 processor, with Mali T628 GPU. This smartphon has massive 3GB of RAM and competes in this aspect with high-end devices such as LG G3, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Sony Xperia Z3. For internal storage, the Honor 6 comes with expandable 16GB ROM.
The Honor 6 is also equipped with a 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash, BSI sensor, and f2.0 aperture, and for the selfie enthusiasts, the company has provided a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. This smartphone is fuelled by powerful 3100mAh battery. For connectivity options, the Honor 6 provides support for Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE and 3G.
The Honor 6 is a single SIM device and runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS with Huawei’s Emotion UI 2.3.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Allen Wang, President, Consumer Business Group India, said, “Honor will be Huawei’s online brand. Honor 6 is our flagship product that will come with Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 920 SoC Processor & 3GB RAM. It supports LTE CAT6 and is 4G-future ready with Band 3 support expected to be available with Indian operators next year. With JDI 12.7 cms(5”) in-cell FHD display and 445 PPI, the stylish Honor6 also offers rich-features such as a 13 MP rear camera and 5MP front camera with 10-level auto face enhancement and 88° large viewing angle for panoramic selfies. We are confident that it is the best product in the category so far and our partnership with Flipkart will help us reach out to online consumers.”
On the other hand, the Honor Holly features a 5 inch HD (720×1280 pixels) LCD display with a pixel density of 294ppi. This smartphone is fuelled by 1.3GHz quad-core processor alongwith with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be extended upto 32GB via microSD card.
The Honor Holly is packed with an 8MP AF rear camera with LED flash and Samsung BSI sensor, and also houses a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Under the hood of this smartphone is 2000mAh battery and for connectivity, it offers options of Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 and 3G.
The Honor Holly supports Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) and runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS with Huawei’s Emotion UI 2.3.
This smartphone is expected to be in the range of Rs. 10,000.
Huawei has also announced today the MediaPad Honor T1 tablet priced at Rs. 9,999.
