To cater to demands of ever-increasing demand of mid-range Sedan in India, South Korean car manuacturer has launched today their Hyundai Xcent compact sedan in India at the starting price of Rs. 4.66 ex-showroom. Hyundai Xcent was showcased at the recent Auto-Expo show. Hyundai has borrowed the name of this sedan from their highly successful Accent sedan, which was sold like hot cakes when it was launched in India few years ago, and which was discontinued only last year.
The newly launched Hyundai Xcent will give tough competition to Swift DZire of Maruti Suzuki and Amaze of Honda. The Xcent will be available in diesel and petrol versions and will come in three variants – Base, S and SX. Bookings for the Hyundai Xcent have started today and the company expects to deliver the booked vehicles very shortly.
The Xcent diesel engine is newly developed second generation 1.1-litre U2 CRDi diesel, which delivers 72PS@4000rpm of maximum power and 18.4kgm@1750-2500rpm of peak torque and is stated to give mileage of 24.4 kmpl. This environment friendly U2 CRDi diesel engine is Euro V ready with low emission and NVH levels. The U2 engine operates at a hiugh pressure of 1,800 bar and generates high low end torque resulting in lesser gear shifts in city driving conditions. The price of base model of Diesel model of the Xcent is Rs. 5,56,000.
The all-aluminium 1.2 lite Kappa petrol engine comes with Dual VTVT mechanism delivering optimum engine performance with 83PS@6000rpm of maximum power and 11.6 kgm@4000rpm peak torque with the mileage of 19.1 kmpl. The petrol engine offers the choice of 5-speed manual transmission and 4-speed Automatic Transmission.
The Hyundai Xcent sedan comes with stylish exteriors and premium interiors. This sedan also has smart and safety features.
The Xcent has swept back headlamps and wrap-around tail lamps with chrome inserts as well as diamond cut alloy wheels( on SX models) and classy chrome door handles,sporty dual tone rear bumper with stylish reflectors.The Xcent has smooth flowing lines on both side of the sedan, which may appeal to the young users.
As far as its interiors are concerned, the Xcent has climate control system and rear AC vents, and its music system has Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in compatibility. It comes with a 1GB on-board storage capacity. The Xcent SX also comes with a segment first reverse parking camera and a smart key with push button start. The top end of the Xcent (SX) also boasts of leather wrap steering wheel and leather wrap gear shift knob with chrome insert.The Xcent has dual tone beige and black interiors which are a first in the segment.
The other features of the Xcent are its auto folding mirrors, one touch electric trunk opening,rear arm-rest with cup holders, sufficient boot space,dual air-bags(only on SX) for safety, rear defogger and rear parking assist in the base and S model.
The Xcent will be available in a range of 6 new colors- black, blue, red, silver,white and blue.
