Indian handsets maker Intex has expanded its portfolio of Aqua range of smartphones and launched today Aqua Octa phablet, which is powered by the MediaTek’s MT6592 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.7GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM. This phablet has 16GB internal memory and comes equipped with 5GB cloud memory. Its memory can be expanded upto 32GB with micro SD card. Available in white and black colors, the Aqua Octa phablet would be available at leading retail outlets across India and e-portals from 15th January, at MRP of Rs. 19,999. However, this smartphone will be available from today onwards at Snapdeal e-commerce site.
The Aqua Octa phablet is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device which runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and sports a 6-inch (720×1280 pixels) HD OGS (One-Glass Solution) IPS display. This smartphone is studded with 13MP autofocus rear camera and also flaunts a 5MP front camera. It gives a high resolution video playability and support various video formats such as 3GPP, 3GP, MP4 and AVI and can play 60 FPS video files.
The Aqua Octa is packed with 2300mAh battery, and the company claims it will give up to 6 hours of talk time and 180 hours of standby. For connectivity options, this smartphone supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, EDGE, GPRS and WAP. The Intex Aqua Octa is the slim smartphone and has a thickness of just 7mm and weighs 180 grams.

The Aqua Octa smartphone is the 8th edition of advanced series of Aqua smartphones, which the comapny has introduced in year 2013, and this is India’s first true Octa Core processor phone. The Aqua Octa smartphone will compete with recently launched Gionee Elife E7 Mini, which is also powered by Octa Core processor, but this smartphone has 4.7 inch display and is priced at Rs. 18,999.
Intex is getting huge response to its handsets in India and has grown by 400% in its handest business clocking a revenue of Rs. 1500 crores in Fy 13-14.
