Kia Motors India has announced that the company has received overwhelming response to its recently launched compact SUV, Kia Sonet. Kia has claimed that it has received 50,000 bookings for Kia Sonet within two months of opening of bookings on August 20, 2020 with an average of two orders placed every three minutes since it started accepting bookings. Of the engine variants, 1.0 & 1.2 petrol account for 60% of the bookings, with the balance taken up by the 1.5 CRDi engine. Kia Sonet was launched in India on September 18 at an introductory price of INR 6.71 lakhs (Ex-showroom, pan-India).
Kia Sonet has generated lot of buzz among the Indian customers who are looking for compact SUV. In September 2020, 9,266 units of the Sonet were dispatched, making it the leader of the compact SUV segment within 12 days of its price announcement and market launch.
