Of late, Lava has become very aggressive in Indian market. After flooding the market with its Iris range of smartphones, now they have probably focussed their attention on extending the portfolio of their Ivory series and tablet segment. Lava International has launched today the sleek and stylish IvoryS tablet for Rs. 8,499. This tablet weighs just 300 grams and will be available across India in grey and white colours.
The IvoryS is a dual SIM 3G calling tablet, which offers seamless internet and video calling capability on the go. This tablet offers dual SIM (3G+2G) capabilities and runs on out-of-the-box Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS.
The IvoryS sports a 7” multi touch capacitive display with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels, and is driven by MediaTek’s MT8312 1.3 GHz dual core processor and Mali 400 GPU @ 416 MHz. It comes with 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory, which is expandable upto 32 GB via microSD card. Lava IvoryS is equipped with a 3.2 MP rear camera and a VGA front camera for 3G video-calling. It is fuelled by a 2,800 mAh battery which is claimed to provide up to 200 hours of standby time and 8 hours talk time. It has connectivity options like Wi-fi, Bluetooth, USB tethering, GPRS and EDGE.

The IvoryS will compete with ASUS Fonepad 7 tablet to some extent, which was launched two weeks ago for Rs. 12,999, The Fonepad 7 is also Dual Sim calling trablet and has some advanced features like HD display with resolution of 1280×800, 8GB of internal storage with expansion range of upto 64GB, rear camera of 5MP and 1.2MP front camera, powerful 3950mAh battery. Moreover, the Fonepad is driven by a 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2520 dual-core processor.
Besides the above differences, Lava IvoryS is vey economical compared to Fonepad 7. The Fonepad 7 is priced at Rs. 12,999.
