Lava Launches Xolo A1000 Phablet with 5-inch HD Display For Rs. 13,999

As per our predictions, all the companies including Indian handsets makers are getting aggressive in launching big screen smartphones. After latest launch of the Micromax A116 Canvas HD having display of 5 inches, which has been getting tremendous response from the buyers since the company started the online booking on 14th February. To take on Micromax’s latest iteration, Lava has announced launch of its dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) Xolo A1000, which is available on some online retailers for Rs. 13,999. The XOLO A1000 phablet has an expected shipping time of 7-8 days.

The Xolo A1000  sports a 5-inch HD display and is manufactured using a unique One Glass Solution (OGS) display technology, that reduces the girth of the phone. This smartphone is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Mediatek MT6577 processor and 1GB of RAM. There’s 4GB of internal storage with additional expansion support for upto 32GB via microSD.

The XOLO A1000 also comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and has a 2100 mAh battery, an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, a 1.2-megapixel front camera . The phone is only 8.8 mm thick, much thinner than the 10.7 mm thick Micromax Convas HD. Connectivity options on the device include the usual Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, USB and GPRS.

With the launch of the XOLO A1000, Lava has also jumped into the phablet arena and in the coming days, the Indian market is going to be flooded with more phablets and all the credit for this segment goes to Samsung, who has started this trend with the launch of their Galaxy Note series.
