Lenovo, makers of PC+,smartphones and tablets, has launched today its lineup of next-generation Yoga Tablet 2, which are powered by Intel processors. The new four tablets are : the Yoga Tablet 2 (8-inch running on Android KitKat) at Rs. 20,990, Yoga Tablet 2 (10-inch, Android KitKat) at Rs. 28,990, Yoga Tablet 2 (10-inch, running on Windows 8.1) at Rs. 34,990, and Yoga Tablet 2 Pro (13-inch, running on Android KitKat) at Rs. 47,990. These tablets will be available exclusively on one of India’s largest e-commerce portals, Flipkart. The first two tablets will start selling from 17th October and the latter two tablets will be available from mid-November.
The Yoga Tablet 2 comes in two different screen sizes of 8-inch (1920×1200 pixel resolution) and 10-inch (1920×1200 pixel resolution, which run on Android 4.4 KitKat OS. Out of four tablets, one tablet of display size of 10 inches runs on Windows 8.1, and comes with 1 year free subscription of Microsoft Office 365.The Yoga 2 Pro Android tablet sports a 13.3-inch Quad HD (2560x1440p) IPS display.
All the four tablets have a new Hang mode besides the existing Stand, Hold and Tilt modes. A well placed cut-out in the kickstand not only allows for taking pictures without any hassle, it also allows one to hang the tablet. Further, the existing modes are made even more effective with a bigger and improved kickstand. The other salient feature of these tablets is Bluetooth AccuType keyboard cover, which is optional, and which gives notebook-equivalent typing quality. Moreover, this cover attaches firmly and securely by magnets with the tablets.
All the four tablets are powered by Intel Atom Z3745 (1.86GHz, 2MB cache) processors paired with 2GB of RAM with 16GB of RAM except Windows tablet which has 32GB of internal storage with microSD support (up to 64GB). These tablets are equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.6-megapixel front camera. All the tablet sports dual front speakers with cinematic Dolby Audio and Wolfson Master HiFi for enhanced sound experience.
The 8-inch variants are packed with 2-cell 6400mAh Li-Cylindrical batteries, while the 10-inch variants are fuelled by 3-cell 9600mAh Li-Cylindrical batteries. These batteries have life of 15 hours and 18 hours, respectively.
The Yoga 2 Pro tablet also has a built-in Pico projector with capacity of up to a 50-inch projection. The projector allows users to turn inside walls into an instant TV or movie screen. It comes with an 8watt sound system with a subwoofer.
