Letv Launches LE Series Of Smartphones In China

LeTV, a Chinese video streaming website, has announced the launch of three smartphones in two series, the Le 1 series and the Le Max series, at an event in Beijing. These phones are claimed to be the first ecosystem phones in the world that support the vertically integrated Letv ecosystem. All these smartphones support Dual-SIM and comes with flippable Type-C port for charging.

On this occasion, Letv also introduced the EUI, which is a cross-device ecosystem, and is present in all the Le series smartphones. The mobile version of the EUI will cover Letv’s TV, Phone and Auto applications and features high-speed connectivity and seamless connection with the Letv ecosystem. The mobile version of the EUI on Le Phones features Live desk, Application Desk, and LeView. Live shows are available 24 hours a day on Live Desk, which provides online live broadcasting, satellite TV, Le Channel and StarCast. LeView enables users to search, aggregate, recommend, remark and share.

The Le 1, priced at RMB 1,499 (starts roughly at Rs. 15,000) features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display. It has a 1.2mm bezel and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6795 64-bit processor, coupled with 3GB RAM and 16/32/64GB storage. This is the first smartphone with this new chip. It is equipped with a 13MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilisation, dual-LED flash, and also houses a 5MP front camera. It is packed with a 3000mAh battery.

The Le 1 Pro is the high-end version of Le 1 and comes in metal body. It features a 5.5-inch QHD (2K) display and 1mm bezel. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 4GB RAM and 32/64GB ROM. It has a 13MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and a 4MP UltraPixel front camera. It has the same battery as found on Le 1. This smartphone starts with RMB 2499, which is approx. Rs. 25,000.

lemax__1429605552_79678The Le Max sports a massive 6.33-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels- 2K) resolution display. Le Max is claimed to be the world’s first phone to adopt a full metal, full floating glass and bezel-free ID design. It also has the narrowest display edge (less than 1.5 mm). It is powered by a 64-bit 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor coupled with and 4GB of DDR4 RAM, and 64GB and 128GB inbuilt storage options. The company has not disclosed the price of this phablet.

LeTv plans to introduce these smartphones in India by the end of this year and their pricing will almost be similar to the Chinese prices. These phones will go on sale in China in the month of May.
